The road behind us. The road ahead.
About Indie Music Bus
Indie Music Bus is returning after more than two years offline – not to recreate every service it once offered, but to build a focused, sustainable home for meaningful independent music.
Built on human listening
Indie Music Bus grew from a simple belief: independent artists deserve to be heard by people who are genuinely paying attention. The original project supported music through conversation, interviews, reviews, discovery, practical promotion, and relationships that lasted beyond a single release.
The music world has changed, but the useful parts of that belief have not. Human judgment still matters. Artist stories still matter. Trust still matters. Indie Music Bus is rebuilding around those principles with a clearer route and a more deliberate pace.
What remains on board
- Listening before amplification.
- Real artist context instead of interchangeable marketing language.
- Editorial decisions independent of payment, reach, relationships, or promotional support.
- Longer-term connections among artists, listeners, labels, publicists, managers, and music people.
A narrower, stronger return
The renewed Indie Music Bus is not a release-news conveyor belt and will not try to restore every historical service at once. It begins with carefully selected music, thoughtful editorial work, and a platform that can grow without losing its standards.
Why Of Absolute Importance comes first
Of Absolute Importance is a genre-fluid playlist built around songs that carry genuine personal significance for the artists who created them. It gives the return a clear starting point: listen closely, understand why a song needed to exist, and help the right listeners discover it.
Riding the Bus
A shared journey, not a transaction
Riding the Bus means taking part in a more human music culture: artists bringing honest work, listeners giving it real attention, and music professionals helping strong stories travel farther without buying influence.
Walter Hargrave
Indie Music Bus is led by Walter Hargrave. Walter sets its editorial direction, listens to submissions, develops its playlists and stories, and builds relationships with artists and the people who represent them.
The promise
We will listen before we amplify.
Coverage and playlist placement are never sold or guaranteed. Songs are considered because the music and its story earn attention—not because of payment, follower counts, promotional capacity, or an existing relationship.
