ROCCR.COM – the next chapter in crowdfunding   With our partner, Indie Music Bus, we’re looking for bands and artists who want to get their next project off the ground. It could be a new tour or a recording session to get your album recorded.  It could be for your first demo or anything that helps bring your fans closer to you and keep them more involved in what you're doing. The first batch of projects can go live on our new site at no cost.  The driving force behind our new crowdfunding site - ROCCR.com, is to be as upfront and honest with costs, as possible. Indie Music Bus Interview | Steve Bishop | Jesus Jones for ROCCR.COM Walter here! So at the end of July  2019 I was doing my morning work on Twitter for Indie Music Bus. I had been watching the Tweets about the PledgeMusic mess all week and chanced upon a Tweet by Blake Morgan @TheBlakeMorgan which ultimately led to the discovery of Recognition, Opportunity, Community, Credibility and Reputation (ROCCR)! From the tweets that followed, I became very interested to learn more about the platform and so we requested an interview. They agreed and shortly after receiving the answers, Indie Music Bus signed up for a partnership with ROCCR. We believe in what they are working towards and want to help it grow. We believe our followers will want to learn more about a crowdfunding platform that plans to do things the [...]

The album is dead, long live the single: How Music Streaming is Transforming the Music Industry via @likeutopiamusic

By |2019-08-01T05:22:15-04:00August 1st, 2019|Categories: Guest Author|Tags: , , , |

This guest article by Utopia Music originally posted on Medium The year was 1992 and grunge was the biggest trend in US rock music as bands like Nirvana and Alice in Chains dominated the album charts. It would seem like a particularly unusual time to sign a college rock band consisting of four ordinary-looking guys whose style and demeanor were the antithesis of the grunge aesthetic. Yet this was the year that Atlantic Records signed Hootie and the Blowfish, whose debut album went on to sell millions of copies globally. But this was not a lucky punch made solely on the basis of the gut instinct of an A&R man. In fact, Hootie and the Blowfish was one of the first examples of how data would transform the music industry. An assistant at a recently created research arm of [...]

photo by Anna Madsen Photography Darlene here, sharing my first impression of “Major Moment” and their latest song, “Living Your Life Like This.”  My first impression formed when Walt played samples of their music from their latest EP, “Sequel.”  My first reaction is, “Where have they been, under a rock?”  Ah, they are new.  Wow.  This 3 person band from Boston formed in 2017.  Their song, “May Leave Scars,” on their follow up EP, “Sequel” released in 2019, is listed as a Semi-Finalist for the 2018 International Songwriting Competition.  I won’t waste the reader’s time talking about what is readily available from their bio.  The “Major Moment” band offers quality sound and dedicated to promoting good will through music.  And, in turn, saving Rock n Roll.  I’m all in. I have repeatedly written that one of my [...]

Music Review: Settin’ Myself on Fire by Christina Taylor @ChristinaTMusic

By |2019-07-21T07:32:26-04:00July 20th, 2019|Categories: Music Review, Song Review|Tags: , , , , |

Walter here, and I want to start off with a little story. Me and my wife have been listening to Christina Taylor's music for a few years now. In May of 2018, we had the opportunity to attend the Key West Songwriters Festival and saw Christina perform in an intimate and romantic musical environment. It was on an awesome sailboat at sunset just after a storm. There were about 25+ people aboard. Some of Christina's family were there and an entourage of musicians and songwriters and some very lucky fans. They performed for us while we enjoyed the ride and the amazing scenery! After the performances, there were complementary finger foods and drinks being served from the galley below. Fans and artists, we all hung out and chatted on the ride back. Everyone was so down to earth and [...]

Is Your Brand Part of the Music Industry’s Future? Let’s Talk!

By |2019-07-20T08:05:32-04:00July 20th, 2019|Categories: Official|Tags: , , , |

For the next few months, we are going to interview brands inventing new technologies and services that are the future of the music industry. Because we care about artist fairness, we will be looking for that from these brands. Over the years we have seen new tech come and go. The current mainstream music industry is ever evolving into something new. Artists are more in control of their own destiny then ever before. Many artists are also entrepreneurs who really care about their peers. They work to do something about the unfairness still found in the industry. Some of them team up with great people to foster change. They work to invent new processes and technologies towards the goal of artist fairness and industry transparency. Are you someone we can interview about your company and services? We would love to [...]

Photo Credit Frank Rodrick It's rare for me to come across an act that just blows me away. And then for me to love every song from their latest album is even more rare! YYNOT has the wife and I giddy! Their live sessions are equally impressive and will leave you stunned. Road trips seem to be so much shorter and fun. Their music forces you to embrace the journey and forget about the destination for a time. If you are into progressive rock music, there's so much to love about YYNOT. We believe they are going to continue to grow their fan-base at each and every venue during tours, there's just no stopping them now! Watch this space for our review of Resonance as soon as we are able! Are you also a fan?Be sure to [...]
