Not Ready (To Leave Just Yet) @LeavingLennox
Leaving Lennox beautifully sings in a perfect accompaniment to piano and guitar, “Not Ready” (To Leave Just Yet) will sway you to linger, as the joined hands depicted in their cover art are not quite ready to separate, just yet. In this melancholy melody of a crumbling marriage, one could either pray they forgive one another or hope they escape an abusive relationship. The lyrics are open to interpretation. There are a million reasons why this song should be heard. The vocals and instrumentals are emotionally charged while the lyrics describe a stall after a storm. The vocal emotions crest as the portrayed difficulty in remaining together becomes more evident. The entire piece is so well blended it is hard to distinguish the guitar resonation and Mick’s Hambly voice, just as there is a symbiotic relationship between Lauren Val and the piano. What makes this song stand out, beyond its expert delivery and masterful production, are the very lively and constantly moving passages of notes that quaver like a Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville ensemble. Do yourself a favor and take a few moments to listen to Not Ready” (To Leave Just Yet).
Also of particular interest to us and will be to you, if you have not already been there, are the live performances this duet do on occasion via Facebook. Leaving Lennox are so very entertaining, hours will pass and the smile on your faces shall never part. Mick’s acoustic guitar performances will leave even the most avid guitar fans in awe. No one leaves Leaving Lennox, you’ll be fans for life!
