Gain New Fans with Custom Wristbands Affordably

By |2017-06-28T07:31:01-04:00June 27th, 2017|Categories: Promotion, Tips|

Wristband Self Promotion Idea: Use wristbands to help new fans remember your band name and website or email address! For a while now we were offering up a tip on Twitter that you could purchase a rubber hand stamp that had your bands name or website address. and ask to use it at the door at gigs. It's a great idea but they were often hard to read. The other day a thought came to mind about the last time we went to a venue and they put a wristband on our wrists to show we purchased a ticket. They were a throw away version and that had no branding. But what if we could find some that offered customization? So we did some research and found different places that had some but they were too expensive because they are [...]

Great Stories Sell

By |2017-06-18T17:57:01-04:00June 18th, 2017|Categories: Stories|

Using stories can help to promote just about anything, great stories can 'sell' just about anything, even ideas. So we asked our musician/band followers on Facebook to share their stories with us and offered to feature some of our favorites. If you would like to have your story featured here, visit our Facebook page and this ► TOPIC to share it on. Stories by Randy Wayne Belt of Barley Station You've probably heard "lead them to the bedroom door but don't let them in" in songwriting? This song 'Like Destiny' leads you to a secret spot on the beach that on you can see in your mind. Have you been there? Yes. You have. We are made of memories. The idea of our upcoming album title "Back There Somewhere" is the concept that we are indeed made of memories and we [...]

Evolving & Revolving Promotions

By |2017-06-17T00:35:32-04:00June 16th, 2017|Categories: Conceptual, Official, Opportunities, Promotion|

Concept for Music Blogs and Interview Sites Evolving & Revolving Promotions to work together using cross promotions for the good of the artists and each other! This would also make all brands involved more appealing to the artists! We want to offer a directory to make it easy to cross promote great talent and content. Each service posts a list of talent they have interviewed, reviewed etc and who they believe worthy of promotion. Two parties offer their list of talent that they believe to be worthy of promotion. Each party would evaluate each others list to find an act to feature, interview, review or whatever the brand's services are. If both parties can agree on a trade, then they would both do what they do and cross-promote each others resulting content. The site would lock the lists for both [...]

Indie Radio Submit Directory Updated and New Features

By |2017-06-10T08:06:33-04:00June 10th, 2017|Categories: Internet Radio, Official Directory, Opportunities|Tags: , , |

Indie Radio Submit Directory Hello everyone, today I am here to tell you about some cool new features we've added to our Indie Radio Directory. Put in two days of programming and data entry time to actually add a database back-end and an editor, we were editing  the directory by hand. Added New Stations Removed Closed Stations Added Grouping Sections by genre With these changes, it has enabled us to "Group" by genre and randomly sort the stations in each group every time we write the page. This gives each of the stations a chance to be positioned near or at the top. You can see we have added the Genre Grouping Titles to each section in the image to the right. New Stations Needed The page and artists using it, need more stations in Country, Hip/Hop, Rap, [...]

Team Work is Key

By |2017-01-17T23:24:26-04:00January 17th, 2017|Categories: Tips|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Hello and welcome! Most of you already know that sooner or later you will come to the point when you will need a team to make it in the new music business.  Artist's need to spend most of their time being creative writing songs and music, then on to recording the hits! Of course you will have say over everything going on but team work is key to a really successful release. While you work on that, your team can document interesting things that are happening during the music and songwriting process as well as take photos and video to go along with it. Another team member can work on graphics for the album cover, the website updates, posters and social media sharing the fans will love. Someone should work on the story about the band and this [...]

Why Won’t People Listen to Your Music

By |2017-01-17T07:41:21-04:00January 17th, 2017|Categories: Tips|Tags: |

So I have been reading a lot of music business books lately and one of the very useful pieces of information I learned from one of them I would like to share with you. On social media I see most acts work at promoting their latest master piece by telling everyone the name of the album and all the places to pick it up. Most music fans don't really care to hear about that. They hear it everywhere from so many that it all becomes noise, so how can you be heard above it all? A better approach is to write great stories about your master piece, stories that will suck your fans in to entice them to learn more about it. Work as hard at writing these stories as you do the album itself. Then share these stories on [...]
